I keep thinking about that distinct description the caller gave—several shots, then a few more, followed by a vehicle speeding off. It’s chilling to imagine such a violent act in a seemingly mundane place like a park-and-ride, especially one so close to venues and highways many of us use frequently. The way George Herbert Mattison’s life ended is just beyond tragic, and I can only imagine what his family is going through, not to mention the frustration of having no answers. It’s baffling that there’s been no arrest or suspect description. I hope anyone who knows anything, even the smallest detail, does the right thing and talks to the authorities. Every little bit could be crucial in helping George’s family find some closure.
