I was just thinking about the detail of Katherine Schupp Major leaving wigs behind in her room at the resort. It's such a peculiar thing to note—why wigs, of all things? Were they part of a disguise or just remnants from an attempt to manage her mental health in some way? It could be nothing significant, but given her mental health struggles, it's hard not to wonder if the wigs represented an attempt to become someone else, even if just temporarily. Maybe they were part of a planned escape or an indication of her crisis mindset. There's so much to analyze in every bit of this case, and it's frustrating that despite it all, we still have no answers. Anyone else have thoughts on what role the wigs might have played?
Just re-read about Katherine Schupp Major's case, and something keeps nagging at me. Why did the dogs lose her scent near the open fields? I've read about how dogs typically follow trails pretty well, so it seems odd to me they couldn't track her further. Could it be that someone picked her up by car from that location? Or maybe there's some natural interference in that area? It's definitely strange considering how much effort went into trying to find her. If anyone has experience with how scent trails work, I'd love to hear your thoughts. It feels so tragic that the trail just went cold like that.
I recently visited Teton Village and couldn't stop thinking about Katherine Major's case. One thing that really stood out to me was how search dogs lost her trail near open fields north of the resort. It's intriguing because that area is pretty vast and desolate. I wonder if there's a chance she made it further than authorities initially thought, or if the scent trail lost due to weather conditions or other animals present in the area. Has anyone familiar with search protocols or locals from the region noticed whether these fields are known for tricky tracking? It feels unsettling how clues seem to just vanish into thin air there.
