Did anyone take a closer look at the security measures in place at the Hardy Parking Deck before this tragedy occurred? It’s been on my mind ever since Lawrence Boyd's life was so senselessly taken. Given that the suspects were involved with earlier thefts and an armed confrontation with police, I can't help but wonder if there was an opportunity for better preventative measures. Were there cameras installed at every level, and did they function properly? Also, how often were patrols conducted? Considering Lawrence's bravery, it's sad that more wasn't done to protect staff working alone at night. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues. It feels like some safety upgrades might be overdue to avoid future tragedies and ensure our community’s spaces are as secure as possible.
