Saw a post about the missing person last seen around the U.S.-Mexico border near Douglas. Something I haven't seen discussed much yet: the significance of the border area in missing persons cases. This location has always been a well-known point for crossings, both legal and illegal. There's a lot of traffic in both directions, which means more potential for things to go unnoticed or for people to disappear within the crowds.
With so many people crossing daily, I'm wondering about the surveillance in place. Does anyone know how closely the border is monitored these days? Are cameras being checked thoroughly, and is there cooperation between U.S. and Mexican authorities on disappearances like this? It’s a complex area with its own unique challenges — just curious if anyone has insights on how such situations are typically handled by law enforcement on either side.
