Hey everyone, I've been following the news about Tom Kriegel, and I still can't wrap my head around it. I lived in Lexington a few years back and, although I didn’t know him personally, the local real estate community is pretty tight-knit. Everyone describes Tom as having been a genuinely kind and steady individual. It’s hard to believe something this tragic could happen to someone so beloved in the neighborhood.
I’m particularly curious about the juvenile charged with his murder. It’s unsettling to think that someone so young could be involved in something like this. What led the police to him, I wonder? How does someone so young end up in such a situation?
I feel for both Tom’s family and the family of this teenager. There’s just so much sadness all around. I hope the community can find peace and that justice is served for Tom. If anyone local has more insights, I’d be interested in hearing how the neighborhood is holding up.

I can't stop thinking about how tight-knit the community on Lakebow Court must have felt having someone like Tom around. It's clear that he was an integral part of the neighborhood's fabric, with so many people sharing stories about his kindness and generosity. It's deeply unsettling to imagine such a warm-hearted individual being taken from this world in such a violent way. One thing that sticks out to me is the age of the suspect. A 17-year-old? It just boggles the mind. It adds another layer of tragedy to this already devastating event. What drives someone so young to commit such an act? It’s critical for investigators to unpack this, though it’s hard to see how any answer could justify or make sense of taking Tom away. To everyone affected by Tom's loss, know the community stands with you. While the authorities continue to piece things together, hopefully, the support from neighbors and friends can provide some small comfort in this difficult time.
