Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about the angle of this case concerning Jean Sturges' community ties. Given her role as a local councilwoman and co-owner of a business, I think there’s a possibility she had interactions with many people who knew her routine well. It’s perplexing that only select valuables were taken, especially with more accessible items like the guns being left behind. Could it be that the perp was in a rush or distracted after the confrontation? Or perhaps they weren't interested in those particular items for a specific reason?
Also, considering how Estancia is a tight-knit community, it's surprising that no one has come forward with more solid leads. Someone must have seen or heard something unusual in the days leading up to or after the murder. I hope someone with even a small piece of the puzzle feels compelled to speak up after all these years. My heart goes out to Jean's family and friends who've had to live with this mystery for so long. Could it be that the answer lies in the small details of her daily life? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this, and whether any locals felt something was off during that time.
Stay safe, everyone.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the ransacking of Jean Sturges’ home. Isn’t it interesting how the perpetrator(s) took cash and jewelry but left behind some firearms? It feels off to me. If the motive was purely robbery, wouldn’t those items be high on the list for someone breaking in? This makes me wonder if the robbery was just a cover-up or maybe an afterthought. The burglars seemed to know exactly when Charles would be away, which makes it hard to ignore the possibility that this was very personal. Maybe someone had a grudge against her or the family? It’s chilling to think she might have known her killer—a friend or acquaintance maybe—that makes it even more tragic. My heart goes out to her family; living through this uncertainty must be unimaginable. I hope one day justice is served. Anyone else have thoughts on how the robbery and the murder might be connected?
