It's so difficult to wrap my head around the tragedy that unfolded in Ida, Arkansas. I keep thinking about the fact that Dustin Cannon was a teacher at Bald Knob High School. Being in a position to shape the minds and hearts of young people has such immense responsibility, and now the community finds itself grappling with this terrible situation. It's unsettling to think about how someone who was trusted and admired in the classroom could end up in such a dire predicament. How are the students handling this? Do they feel safe going back to school knowing one of their mentors has been charged with such a serious crime? My heart goes out to all the kids who are affected by this, as well as the Cannon family left to pick up the pieces. I hope there are resources in place to support everyone involved through this emotionally challenging time.
