I’ve been following Leon Wauneka’s case closely and it's so frustrating that it's still unsolved. Something that I find particularly unsettling is the lack of any substantial leads or details about what might have happened that day in May 2017. Albuquerque has a worrisome number of unresolved homicides, but each one is a person with a story and loved ones who deserve answers. I can’t help but think about what his family must be going through every day not knowing what happened to him. Has anyone heard if there will be any renewed efforts or new techniques like using genetic genealogy to try to crack this case? It gives me some hope that the Albuquerque Police Department is still on it and they're urging people to come forward with any information. Leon deserves justice, and his family deserves peace.
Hi everyone,
I recently came across the unsolved case of Leon Wauneka, who was found dead back in May 2017 in Albuquerque. It's truly upsetting that his loved ones still don't have the closure they deserve. I've been thinking a lot about how the Albuquerque Police Department has been handling these unsolved cases. Given the sheer number of them, I wonder if they're overwhelmed with resources stretched thin, and how that might impact the progress on Leon's case. Does anyone have any insights on how APD prioritizes these cases or how they might allocate resources? It's so crucial for Leon's family to have answers, and I can't help but feel that community awareness could really help push things forward. Would love to hear your thoughts or any info you might have.
Take care all, and let's keep Leon and his family in our thoughts.
