Did anyone else find the timeline here a bit confusing? Enrique called his mother on August 1st, saying he'd cross the next day. But then the coyote claims Enrique had a heart attack and was left behind on the 5th. So what happened between the 2nd and the 5th? Plus, if the coyote called the family on the 8th, that’s quite a delay. Was there any search or rescue attempt by the coyote or the group during those few days, or did they just keep moving on without him? This all seems really odd to me. It makes me wonder about the conditions or the decisions being made in these situations.
Hey everyone, I've been going through the case files and something struck me as odd about Enrique's disappearance. I remember reading that Enrique called his mom from Altar on August 1, 2011, saying they were planning to cross at Sonoyta/Lukeville. Then there’s this guy who says Enrique got really sick on the way. It’s puzzling to me that the coyote didn’t reach out until a week after claiming Enrique had a heart attack on August 5.
What's really confusing is how the communication went down. If Enrique had such severe symptoms, why didn’t anyone call for help sooner, especially since the coyote mentioned they hadn’t even reached Cerro de Elefante yet? I wonder if anyone else in the group saw what actually happened. Maybe someone else has some info or can spot inconsistencies in these claims. It just feels like something’s missing. Does anyone have any insights into how these situations are usually handled or what might’ve happened?
Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions around August 5, 2011, in the area near Cerro de Elefante? I wonder if it could have played a role in Enrique's condition. The Sonoran Desert can be brutal that time of year, and dehydration or heatstroke might have been factors if he was already sick. I'm curious if there's any way to verify what conditions were like back then, maybe through local weather archives or reports. It just seems odd that he fell ill so suddenly, and I'm struggling to understand why they wouldn't try to get him medical help sooner. Any thoughts or resources would be appreciated!
