Hello my name is Catrina Cathey and I'm the mother of this young man Jakayvin Jones. Nothing could have prepared me for this. Not only am I out here fighting for my son's justice but I'm also putting together a Fundraiser in my son's honor to give him a proper HomeGoing and cremation. Jakayvin was my 2nd born and I am on this website to get justice for my baby. His siblings and I won't rest until he gets the justice he deserves.

If you feel like sharing, what was Jakayvin like as a person when he was at home with you? What’s something you want people to know about him beyond what happened to him?

I'm just devastated reading about Jakayvin Jones. I can't stop thinking how terrifying it must have been for him in those last moments. The idea that someone out there still hasn't been held accountable for such a tragic end is beyond unsettling. It's also concerning that the apartment complex had been such a hotspot for trouble, including another recent shooting. Makes you wonder about the security there and if things could've been different if safety measures had been increased. My heart goes out to Jakayvin's family and friends—they deserve justice and some peace of mind, and I hope they find it soon. Has anyone in the community stepped forward with more information since this happened? It feels like someone has to know something.
