I can't stop thinking about Alexander's family and what they must be going through. It’s unimaginable to send your child to a church festival—a community event—and never have them return home. The fact that the shooting stemmed from a previous dispute baffles me. It makes me wonder how conflicts among young people escalate so quickly to violence. I read about the Mass of Healing and Peace, and while it was a touching gesture from the community, it's hard to shake off the feeling of sadness that hangs over it all. I hope the Puentes family finds some form of peace and support from everyone around them. As for Luis Hinch, it’s a sobering reminder of how quickly young lives can spiral out of control and change forever. What a tragic outcome for everyone involved.

It's truly tragic that a place of community and faith turned into a site of such violence. I've been following the case of Alexander Puentes, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this difficult time. I can't imagine the pain they’re going through. I’m particularly struck by the choice made by the suspect's family to bring him to the police station to turn himself in. It must have been an incredibly difficult decision for his mother, and it highlights how many lives are affected in the wake of such senseless acts. It brings up a lot of questions for me about how teenagers can get to this point and what kinds of support systems might be missing in their lives. I also hope the community can find healing in the wake of such devastation. Events like the Mass of Healing and Peace remind us all of the importance of coming together in sorrow, seeking peace over retaliation, and supporting one another in rebuilding a sense of safety and community. If anything, I hope this tragedy can push more conversations about preventing youth violence and reaching these kids before it’s too late.

I've been following the tragic events surrounding the loss of young Alexander Puentes, and I can't stop thinking about how incredibly quickly life can change. One moment you're celebrating at a community festival, and the next, everything is shattered. It's devastating to know this all stemmed from a dispute among teenagers that could have been resolved in so many other ways. My heart goes out to Alexander's family, who now have to carry this unimaginable pain. From what I've gathered, this was supposed to be a joyous summer evening bringing people together. Instead, it ended with a community in mourning. I attended the Mass of Healing and Peace held at St. Thomas More and was moved by the unity and strength displayed by everyone there. The shared grief was palpable, but so was the determination to support one another through this. It's a tight-knit community, and seeing everyone come together like that offers a sliver of hope in such a dark time. I hope the events that unfold after this tragedy guide us as a city towards understanding and healing. Does anyone else feel like there's more we can do to address the underlying issues that lead to these senseless acts of violence?

I've been thinking a lot about the role of community spaces and how they can turn from places of celebration to scenes of tragedy so quickly. It's so tough to grasp how an event meant for peace and outreach, like the parish festival at St. Thomas More, can take such a dark turn. My heart goes out to Alexander's family and friends; it must be devastating to have lost him in such a senseless way. It's also really difficult to imagine what the families of both Alexander and Luis are going through right now. Both are so young, and it seems like a situation that spiraled out of control. It makes you wonder if there were any warning signs that this dispute could escalate to such a severe level. Our community definitely needs to come together and support each other in these tough times. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
