I’ve been following the case of James Johnson, and my heart goes out to his loved ones during this really tough time. One aspect I can’t stop thinking about is the story around Ceasar Smith’s changing statements. It's just troubling how he initially claimed self-defense because of unwanted advances and then later shifted to something about a debt collection. It's hard to know what to make of these conflicting stories, but it sure seems strange he didn’t stick to one version of events. I hope investigators can piece together the true nature of what happened and that justice is served. Anyone else finding these inconsistent stories concerning? How often does a narrative flip like this in criminal cases, and what does it usually indicate? Anyone with insights, please weigh in!
