Has anyone else been following the details about how the suspect was apprehended? I can’t stop thinking about the speed and intensity of that situation on North Clinton Avenue. It seems like everything escalated so quickly from tracking down a suspect to a full-on confrontation with gunfire exchanged. It's a miracle that the officers only sustained non-life-threatening injuries, given the dangerous nature of these encounters.
I'm also very curious about the role that body-worn and blue-light camera footage is playing in this case. The transparency in releasing that footage can really help shed light on what actually happened during the arrest of Edison Estremera-Cohen and might provide some much-needed clarity for the community. While I know it's good for building public trust, it's probably incredibly difficult for David’s family to see this footage knowing the brutality that surrounded his passing.
