I've been following this case closely, and reading about the candlelight vigil for Thomas Smith III really got to me. It's clear he was loved and respected in his community. Seeing how many people came together to honor him says a lot about the kind of person he was. It's so difficult to comprehend the loss his family and friends are experiencing right now. I wonder if they'll ever disclose more about the relationship between Thomas and the accused or what led to this tragic event. It seems like such a senseless loss, and I hope justice is served swiftly so his family can find some form of peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all who are mourning him.

I'm really bothered by how easily violence seems to touch communities like Millville. Thomas Smith III, at just 20 years old, was someone whose life touched so many - especially through his involvement in athletics. It's just so unfair that someone with such promise and talent could have their life taken so senselessly. It's a bitter reminder of how quickly things can change. At the community vigil, you could feel this deep sense of loss, but also a strong sense of unity in honoring Thomas’s memory. The big question on everyone’s mind seems to be what could have possibly motivated this tragedy. I hope we eventually get some answers, though of course, nothing will bring Thomas back. If anyone knows of any avenues to support his family, whether by sharing memories or contributing to any established fundraisers, please share. It's vital we keep his spirit alive and support those he left behind.
