I came across an article today discussing the police response during the tragic incident at the LVAC on May 16, 2025. While it's clear that the officers did their best under intense circumstances, I can't help but think about how terrifying it must have been for everyone inside. Confronting Ortega as he exited with a rifle shows incredible bravery, but it's such a sad commentary on the times we live in that first responders have to face these situations at all. My heart goes out to Edgar Quinonez's family and friends as they navigate this terrible loss. From everything I've read, Edgar was a cornerstone in his community, making the gym feel like a second home for many. It's gut-wrenching to think about the void his absence has left behind. I hope local authorities can shed light on Ortega's motive to perhaps provide even a shred of comfort to those affected.
