I've been thinking a lot about the circumstances surrounding Kayelyn Ford's tragic death, especially how quickly everything unfolded after her call to the police. It's so incredibly sad to think she tried to seek safety by reaching out to law enforcement, but despite their presence, it wasn't enough to keep her safe. I can't begin to imagine the fear she must have felt in those final moments. It's upsetting that even with a protective order in place, these situations can still escalate to such a horrific outcome. I really hope that as a community, we can find more effective ways to support and protect those who are facing domestic violence. My heart goes out to Kayelyn's family and friends. If anyone has ideas on how similar tragedies can be prevented, I think it's important to keep this conversation going.
