I've been following the tragic case out of Poplar, and one detail that sits heavily with me is the dynamics within Michael J. Ackerman's family. It’s so hard to wrap my mind around the idea that someone could do this to their own loved ones. Earlene, Matthew, and Winona weren't just names in a report—they were part of each other's lives. Earlene, especially, was known around Fort Peck and seemed to be a kind, grounded person deeply connected to her community. I keep wondering about what led up to that horrific moment. With Michael supposedly under the influence of meth and feeling paranoid, it’s terrifying to think substances could distort reality that much, especially to turn against people you know and love. I feel so deeply for their friends and family who are left grappling with this loss, trying to make sense of something so senseless. Has anyone else heard more about any ongoing support for those affected in Poplar? I really hope there are resources available for them.
