I’ve been following the tragic events of July 2 in River North, and I can't stop thinking about the families who lost their loved ones, especially Leon Andrew Henry's. I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through right now. It’s horrifying to think that a night meant for celebration could turn into such a nightmare. What struck me the most is the sheer panic and chaos witnesses described surrounding the Artis Restaurant and Lounge. I think about how it must have been like a war zone for those present, with people trying to find safety and realizing too late the true danger unfolding around them. It's infuriating to see such senseless violence, and the fact that it seems targeted just adds another layer of fear and frustration. I hope the investigators can quickly find those responsible and bring some justice to Leon and the others’ families. They deserve answers and peace. The community needs to come together to push for change so we can prevent such tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to everyone affected, including those who were injured and all witnesses who are likely traumatized from that night.
