Has anyone in the community talked about Jeffrey Hicks's history in the neighborhood? It seems like everyone knew him, at least in passing. I was chatting with someone who mentioned how he used to host these occasional BBQs and always greeted folks with a smile. It just adds another layer of tragedy knowing he was someone who contributed to a sense of community. I can't help but wonder if there was any prior tension between Hicks and the young man involved. It feels like such a senseless escalation. If anyone has more context about what kind of person Jeffrey was or if there were underlying issues, I'd be interested to hear. I'm hoping his family and friends are finding support in this difficult time.
