I’ve been following Lloyd Johnson’s case since hearing about it a few weeks back, and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. It’s such a tragedy to see another life taken by gun violence, especially in a community that has already seen so much pain. I spent some time looking at the area where Lloyd was found, 4300 block of West Monroe Street. For those who don’t know, West Garfield Park has its share of challenges, and it’s disheartening to see the same locations getting caught up in violent incidents repeatedly. What concerns me is the safety of the community and how local authorities are handling these situations. I realize there aren’t any suspects yet, but I'm hopeful justice will be served soon for Lloyd. It’s essential that his death doesn’t just become another statistic. Whether you knew Lloyd or not, this affects us all. Stay safe out there, everyone. Let’s keep Lloyd’s memory alive and support each other as we seek answers.
