I’ve been following the case of Marissa Leara Rowell and her family, and I can’t stop thinking about her daughter. It's unimaginable what she's been through at such a young age. I read that she managed to escape the horrific scene and find help—an act of bravery that no child should have to summon. It's critical that the community rallies around her to provide the long-term emotional support she’ll need. From the news I've seen, it appears that the family was on the verge of beginning a new chapter in their lives, and it's devastating that their dreams and future were so abruptly and violently taken from them. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved the victims, and I'm grateful that the community fundraisers aim to aid the young girl. It's one small way for all of us to help amidst this tragedy. If anyone knows of additional ways to support the daughter or can share resources for dealing with trauma, please post them. It’s a time to come together and ensure that she knows she’s not alone.
