I've been deep-diving into Theodore Lynch's case, and something about the PFD coming off just doesn't sit right with me. From what I understand, those life jackets are designed to stay secured even in rough conditions. Has anyone heard any details on what might have caused it to come off during the rescue attempt? Misfitted gear? Was it damaged before, or could it have been a manufacturing defect? It seems strange, especially because so many other aspects of this tragic event indicate he should have had a fighting chance to stay afloat until more help arrived. Would love to hear other people's thoughts or any similar experiences with faulty PFDs.
