I attended the recent vigil for Brody Davis, and I was truly touched by the outpouring of love and support from the community. Seeing his friends and family gather, sharing stories and shedding tears, was both moving and devastating. One thing that struck me was a letter his younger sister read aloud. She spoke about Brody's dreams of becoming a chef and how he used to make breakfast for the family every Sunday. It was a beautiful reminder of his gentle spirit and the future he should have had. The hardest part was realizing how cruelly that future was snatched away from him. I hope that as this case moves through the courts, we remember him for the joy and warmth he brought into the world, while seeking the justice he and his family deserve. Does anyone else have stories or memories of Brody they’d like to share? I feel like sharing who he was as a person might help us all in some small way.
