I’ve been following the case of Jerry Don Beane Jr. and I can't help but think about the role that community safety plays in all this. It's incredibly upsetting to see another life lost so senselessly. It's baffling to hear about Harrell being found reportedly covered in blood. I keep wondering, how did things escalate to that point? I have to imagine that the community around North 38th Street is feeling shaken right now. I hope Fort Smith officials are taking steps to support the residents there. The strength of a community can be pivotal in these times, and I hope they can come together to support each other as they grieve Jay's passing. Sending my thoughts to Jay’s loved ones and everyone affected.
