Has anyone else been thinking about the role that hydrogen cyanide might have played in the Portegee sisters’ case? It’s so chilling to think that the first responders felt dizzy just walking into the house due to the toxic air. I wonder if this chemical discovery is more than just a tragic coincidence. Could it have been an intentional part of the crime or just an unfortunate byproduct of something else burning? It just seems like such an unusual and dangerous element to encounter, and I can’t help but worry about the risk it posed not only to the investigators but also to the neighborhood. My heart goes out to their family, having to grapple with both the loss and these baffling circumstances. Anyone else have thoughts on how the toxic environment might tie into what happened to Ruth and Loretta?
