I've been following the case of the Hart family tragedy, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the role of the system in situations like this. Markis Hart, just 19 years old, and his siblings suffered such an unimaginable end. It’s beyond upsetting to think about their lives lost in a moment that might have been prevented with the right interventions. What stands out to me is the background of the parents, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, and the signs that were reportedly missed. There were multiple reports and complaints made to child protective services over the years, painting a picture of a family in crisis. How did the system drop the ball so tragically? I can't help but feel for Markis and his siblings, who deserved so much better from those entrusted with their care. If only the system had acted sooner or more decisively, perhaps these young lives could have had a different trajectory. It’s crucial that we learn from this to improve the system moving forward so that no other child has to face such a fate. ?
