It's been really difficult following this case, particularly when you think about Shanta's oldest son, Isaiah Smith. To lose his entire family in such a brutal manner and be the only one left behind is just unthinkable. I keep wondering how he's been coping, especially during the trial and subsequent conviction of James White. I hope the community has been supporting him in whatever ways he needs. It makes you question how senseless acts like these happen, and for what? Those kids had their whole lives ahead of them, and it sounds like Shanta was a loving mom trying to create a stable life for her family with Brandi. They all deserved so much better. My thoughts are with everyone who loved them and is still dealing with the aftermath of this horrific crime. I just wish there had never been a need for justice in the first place.
