I've been thinking a lot about the role Amy's housekeeper, Veralicia Figueroa, played in the tragic events. It's clear she was more than just an employee; she was part of their lives for so long. Many of us have people who work closely in our homes, and the trust built over years makes this even more gut-wrenching. To think she was caught up in this terrible situation while just doing her job makes her death all the more tragic. It speaks volumes about how chaos and brutality can strike within what should be one of the safest environments we have—our homes. My heart truly goes out to her family and friends, who not only had to grapple with their loss but also with the violent nature of it. It’s just so very sad to think of her bravery and dedication in those final hours.
