Hey everyone,
I've been digging more into the case of Garry Dewane Lee and came across something that really struck me — Garry was just working out at the karate school when his life was so brutally taken away. This was supposed to be a safe space for him, a place to focus on his health and wellness, yet it turned into a nightmare because of sheer hatred. I can't imagine the trauma his friend went through, being there and confronting the shooter. His friend's bravery in such a terrifying moment speaks volumes about their courage, yet it must be such a difficult burden to carry. My heart genuinely goes out to them and Garry’s family. Such an immense loss. It's infuriating to think that the shooter targeted places where people go about their daily lives, thinking they’re safe. It’s a reminder of how we need to stand against such prejudices and protect our communities. Stay safe, everyone.
Has anyone else been following the civil case that Garry Dewane Lee’s family brought against Baumhammers and his parents? I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through, not only losing Garry in such a senseless act of violence but having to face the legal system afterward. It’s so tragic to see how hate can ripple out and destroy lives, not just for the victims but their families too. I’m curious if others think these civil suits provide any real sense of justice or closure for the families. It feels like a long and painful journey for them, but maybe it helps to hold someone accountable, at least in some way. Thoughts?
