I've been reading up on the Baumhammers case, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Anita "Nicki" Gordon. I can't imagine the pain her family is experiencing. One thing that really struck me was her involvement in the Beth El Congregation. I read that she helped with the synagogue's decorations. It seems like such a small thing, but it speaks volumes about her character and how she dedicated her time and talents to her community. It's just devastating that her life, filled with kindness and beauty, was cut short in such a horrific way. In times like these, it makes you realize how rooted a person can be in their community, touching so many lives in ways they may never fully comprehend. My thoughts are with Nicki's family, friends, and everyone at Beth El Congregation. They certainly lost a cherished soul that day.
