I've been thinking a lot about the brave actions of James "Red" McDaniel during the horrific First Baptist Church shooting. It's truly inspiring how he didn't hesitate to put his own life on the line to protect others. McDaniel's intervention exemplifies selflessness, and it’s incredibly important for us to remember and honor that courage. It’s hard to imagine the fear and chaos of that day, yet amidst it all, McDaniel took decisive action. Knowing he was a respected foreman and active in the community, it's clear he was someone who naturally stepped up to help wherever needed. Stories like his remind me of how extraordinary acts of heroism often come from ordinary people. My thoughts are with his family and the families of all the victims as they continue to deal with the lasting impact of such a senseless act.
