Hey everyone, I've been following the George Atkinson Sr. case, and I keep thinking about the community's response back in '92. With such a horrific crime happening on Christmas Eve, it must have sent shockwaves through Prince Edward County. It's one thing to read about the cold facts, but I can't help but think about the people who lived nearby or knew the families. How does a community start to heal after something so devastating? I've read that after the fire, neighbors rallied around the living family members, offering support wherever possible. If anyone was around during that time or has more insights into how the community came together, I'd be interested to hear more. It’s important to remember the victims and honor the strength of those who had to endure the aftermath.

I can't stop thinking about the fire element in this case. It seems like such a cold and calculated move to try to cover up what happened, but setting a house ablaze like that must have drawn a lot of attention. I keep wondering if they planned the fire in advance, or if it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. Also, it's significant that they would choose fire, as it's a very destructive force, and it makes me wonder if they had done something similar before, or if they were setting a precedent with this crime. My heart goes out to the Atkinson family, not just for their loss but for the added trauma of their home being destroyed in such a brutal way. Has anyone come across similar cases where arson was used to cover tracks, and what was the outcome?
