Has anyone else read about the disturbing fire that took place in LaPlace back in 1980? It’s just such an unsettling case involving an elderly woman named Ida Bodreaux. The fact that someone deliberately set her home ablaze and she couldn’t escape is just horrifying. It seems like the initial investigation was really hampered by the lack of physical evidence due to the fire's intensity. I can’t even imagine what her friends and family must have gone through.
What really caught my attention was the detail about how the fire started near an entry point, almost as if someone intentionally knew how to maximize the damage. Though John Francis Wille was identified as the likely suspect based on his criminal pattern, it’s frustrating there were no official charges. Do you think enough effort was made to pursue justice for Ida? It's regrettable that her case still feels unresolved in terms of accountability. I'd love to hear what others think about this and if there's been any recent developments.
