Has anyone else been thinking about the location where Natayla was found? It seems so out in the open on Detroit’s east side. I can't shake the feeling she deserved more respect even after everything that happened. It truly makes my heart ache for her family, having to visit such a spot to pay their respects. It's haunting to think it was so close to Canfield and Dickerson—where so many of us pass by every day.
Her family did an astonishingly brave thing, publicly asking for information when it must have been the hardest time of their lives. I hope they can find some peace eventually, but I know that earning closure in such heinous circumstances doesn't come easy. It’s chilling to think Welch committed this crime so close to innocent people’s daily routines. Have any locals expressed what it’s like living so close to that field now? Hoping there’s a plan to commemorate Natayla in a way that honors the life she led, rather than just the tragic way it ended.
