Does anyone else find it incredibly eerie how Margaret's car was just sitting there a block from her home with two flat tires? It's so haunting to think about. My heart goes out to her family and friends, knowing that she was so close to getting home safely. Was she followed from the club, or did something happen after she parked? If the car was just sitting there, it makes me wonder if maybe someone tampered with the tires to prevent her from escaping. The whole situation is just so unsettling, especially knowing how Watts stalked his victims. It's a horrifying reminder of how quickly things can go wrong and how vulnerable we all are, even in places we feel safe. I'm sending love and strength to all those impacted by this tragedy.

I've been reading about the tragic case of Margaret Fossi, and what stands out to me is the absolute terror and randomness of Coral Eugene Watts' attacks. It’s chilling to think that a brilliant young woman like Margaret, with so much potential and a bright future, could have her life cut short in such a violent way. I can’t imagine how devastating it must have been for her family and friends, not just facing the loss, but also learning about the horrific details later on. Watts' confession to destroying her personal belongings to “kill the spirit” is beyond disturbing—it's as if he wanted to erase her very essence. It's infuriating to know he never faced charges for her murder because of that immunity deal. I hope this forum helps keep her memory alive and reminds us of the resilience of the community despite such dark times. How did her fellow students and professors at Rice University react during this period? Anyone have insights or recollections they can share?
