Did anyone else grow up hearing stories about Delores Young and the other victims from that dark period in Benton Harbor? My grandmother used to say that the fear around town was palpable back then, especially for African American women who felt particularly targeted. I've always found it alarming how so many details seem to get lost as the years go by, and these women deserve to be remembered. What stands out to me is that partially burned Christmas card with "Young" scrawled on it. It’s like something straight out of a mystery novel. I wonder if it was meant to be a taunt or a coincidence? Either way, it feels personal and chilling. It's such a heartbreaking part of the whole case, and I can only imagine the horror and grief their families must have experienced. What do you all think about the investigation's focus on Clarence Walker? While they closed her case in connection with him, it's unsettling that there was never a formal conviction. If he was indeed responsible, it’s a shame justice couldn’t be fully served for Delores and the others. I hope sharing these stories ensures that Delores Young, Mary Jones, Amelia Boyer, and little Diane Carter are never forgotten.
