Has anyone else been struck by how Maury Travis managed to operate under the radar for so long, even drawing seemingly little suspicion? It’s so terrifying to think of the double life he led — a hotel waiter by day, a monstrous killer by night. Cassandra Walker’s death, along with those of many other women, might have gone unresolved if not for that bizarre twist where Travis mailed a map to a journalist. It sends shivers down my spine to consider how many more women might have fallen victim. My heart truly goes out to Cassandra’s family and all the families impacted, who were left with more questions than answers after Travis took the coward’s way out. It's chilling and unsettling to realize how vulnerable these women were, and how society failed them by not noticing the patterns sooner.
