I've been thinking about the role of mental health in tragic cases like the Torgerson murders. It seems that David's history of mental illness was known, but somehow that didn't prevent this horrific outcome. I wonder if there were warning signs that could have been acted on more forcefully or if there were missed opportunities for intervention. It's devastating to think about what Lana, her children, and Rebecca went through, and it's even more painful knowing that there might have been a point where things could have been different. Mental health support, especially around that time, might not have been what it is today, but I hope we've learned to listen and intervene more effectively now.
