I've been thinking about the devastating impact these cases had on the children involved, especially the two young kids of David and Linda Hamilton. It's unimaginable to grasp the trauma they must have endured, losing one parent in such a violent way and the other disappearing without a trace. Growing up with that kind of loss and uncertainty must be incredibly difficult. I hope they’ve been able to find some peace over the years. It frustrates me that justice still feels elusive, with Linda never being found and formal charges not being pressed against Surratt. It seems like there are so many loose ends, and I can't help but feel for those kids who were left with so few answers. Does anyone know if they’ve spoken out or how they’ve managed to cope since all of this happened?
I've been reading up on the David and Linda Hamilton case, and the part that really sticks out to me is the terrifying impact these crimes had on the community back then. I can only imagine how people must have felt — constantly looking over their shoulders, worried about a potential target on their own backs. It must have been incredibly stressful not knowing if safety precautions would truly protect them.

It's just heartbreaking to think about families feeling like they needed to arm themselves in order to sleep soundly at night. The psychological toll on both the local community and the Hamiltons' family, especially the children who lost both their parents in an instant, must have been enormous.
