I was just thinking about the changes proposed by the Austin City Council in response to Julio Santos III's tragic death and others at Lady Bird Lake. It's good to see that they're considering increased patrols and installing HALO cameras, but I can't help but feel frustrated that it took multiple tragedies to get to this point. It seems like Julio's family has been pushing for these changes for so long, and their persistence is really commendable. Hopefully, these safety measures will prevent any more families from experiencing such a devastating loss. It's just so tough to see that despite these measures, there's still no justice or closure for Julio's loved ones. I can't imagine what they're going through, fighting not just for answers, but for lasting change in the area. Sending all my thoughts to them as they navigate this incredibly difficult journey.

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the posts about Julio Santos III, and I can’t stop thinking about the detailed future he had ahead of him. It’s just so incredibly sad to lose someone so young and talented, especially right before he was about to start a new chapter in Seattle. I didn’t know him personally, but his academic success and passion for fashion and design really resonate with me—Pedro sounded like someone who would have thrived in his new job. Has anyone heard any updates on the safety measures around the Rainey Street Entertainment District since Julio's case and the others? With numerous incidents occurring around Lady Bird Lake, it seems like the Austin City Council might be on the right track with increased patrols and HALO cameras as part of their resolution. But I wonder, is there any recent feedback from locals on whether these measures have improved safety? It must be tough for families like Julio’s to move forward without answers or tangible changes. Hoping to see some positive developments in the area to prevent more tragedies. Stay safe out there, everyone.
