Has anyone else been struck by the amount of detail with how Bernadita Gonzalez was found? I’ve been following this case and can’t help but feel deeply for her family. The fact that her jewelry was left behind has been picking at my brain. It seems to point away from robbery being a possible motive, doesn’t it? It makes me wonder if the killer was trying to make some kind of statement or perhaps felt confident enough that they wouldn't need to cover their tracks. And then there’s the matter of her clothing, specifically her underwear being removed. It’s such a disturbing element, and while it seems to suggest some kind of sexually motivated intent, the lack of direct evidence of assault bewilders me. It’s like the killer wanted to imply certain things or maybe was using it as a form of humiliation. I also find it particularly chilling how her case ties into the broader pattern of the Miami Strangler. It’s a grim reminder of just how calculating and cruel the perpetrator was. I truly hope that, someday, Bernadita’s family will find some semblance of closure, although I can only imagine how elusive that must feel after all these years without answers.
