Wow, I just came across this horrifying case and it truly chills me to the bone. I can’t imagine what Katherine’s friends and family must have gone through. Something that’s been stuck in my mind is the detail about Smith calling the tow truck around the time of Katherine’s disappearance. It seems so brazen and reckless for him to draw attention to himself like that. Do you think he was just overconfident or was there something else going on? It’s terrifying to think there were possibly other victims out there, and it’s profoundly sad how much pain one person can cause. I hope the families of all those affected were able to find some degree of peace knowing this man was put away. Curious to hear if anyone else thinks there might have been more to his behaviors at the time?
