I can't help but feel deeply moved thinking about Velma's warm heart and generosity. It's just so tragic how her compassionate nature led to such a horrible outcome. I’ve been following discussions about the huge number of outstanding warrants back then, and I keep asking myself—how could this even happen? It seems like the system failed her in the worst way. The fact that Silva had a bench warrant and yet was free to cause such harm is baffling and infuriating. It's alarming to think about how many opportunities were missed to prevent this tragedy. My thoughts go out to Velma's family and community. They deserved better protection and answers that don't seem to come easily with such systemic issues looming over cases like this. Any thoughts on whether things have improved in terms of executing warrants or tracking such individuals today?
