I've been thinking a lot about the community response during the search for April and Leslie back in 1984. It's remarkable how the town came together, trying to support one another during such an incredibly difficult time. Despite the fear and uncertainty, the residents of Griswold and surrounding areas seemed to rally together to assist the search efforts. I can't even imagine what April’s and Leslie’s families went through during those two months. I hope the outpouring of community support brought them at least some comfort amid the chaos and fear. The strength they showed continues to inspire many, even years later. It’s also a stark reminder of the impact community can have in times of crisis. Even today, I believe this kind of unity is vital. If anything, we’ve got to look out for one another, especially when faced with the unimaginable.
