I've been following the case of Matthew John Pierro for a while now, and something that really stands out to me is the connection with his last known location, the gay bar in Orlando. In the early '80s, LGBTQ+ spaces were supposed to be safe havens, yet for Matthew, it tragically marked the beginning of a nightmare. It's chilling to think he might have been targeted just for being there, and it says so much about the vulnerabilities LGBTQ+ people faced at the time—and still face to some extent today. One can only imagine the fear and mistrust this sowed in the community, knowing someone was preying on people like them. I've come across stories of men who stopped going out at night altogether after hearing about his murder. I hope we never forget the challenges and dangers that existed just a few decades ago, and that we continue to fight for safe spaces for everyone. Matthew deserved to feel safe, as did the other men who fell victim to such senseless violence. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have had to live with this unresolved pain all these years.

Hey everyone, I came across something interesting while revisiting Matthew John Pierro’s case that I hadn't focused on before. It's about the location where his body was found. Lake Mary isn’t exactly a bustling area, especially back in 1982. You have to wonder why the killer chose such a place. Was it just a convenient spot to dump the body, or was there something more to it? Given Rogers' background and his ties to the medical field, it's perplexing why he'd risk being spotted anywhere so public with a body. Obviously, it's all speculation, but you can't help but think there might have been some personal significance or familiarity with the area—either to him or someone else involved, even unknowingly. I can't imagine how distressing it must be for Matthew's family to have these questions linger for so long. They deserve answers and closure. Anyone else have thoughts on the significance of Lake Mary in this case? Could it have been intentional or purely coincidental?
