Has anyone else been puzzled by the proximity of Jeanette McClelland's murder to the other recent victims in Alexandria back in 1977? It’s chilling to think that the area around Shirley Highway could have been the stomping ground for Montie Rissell. I can't shake the discomfort of imagining how close-knit that apartment community at Hamlet Apartments must have been, and how utterly terrifying it was to find out a neighbor was behind these attacks. I feel for Jeanette's friends and family—it’s devastating to have lost someone so young and full of potential under such brutal circumstances. It just makes me wonder if there were any warning signs that could've helped catch Rissell sooner, or if maybe the community was simply prey to such a calculating killer. Any thoughts on how something like this could be prevented in today's world?
