I've been reading up on Delise "Missy" Plager's case, and it really struck me how connected she was to her community, despite her young age. Everyone who knew her described her as a "vibrant presence," and I think that speaks volumes about the impact she had on those around her. Being remembered in such a positive light shows that she was more than just a name on a list. What I find particularly moving is imagining her as a mom. Her two little ones must have felt her absence deeply, and it's hard not to think about how they had to grow up without her guiding hand. It's crucial that we continue to share stories like Missy's to honor the memory of all the lives affected by senseless violence. Her family deserved answers, and while the capture of Gary Ridgway brought some resolution, it couldn't replace what they lost. Always keeping Missy's spirit in our thoughts.
