I’ve been thinking a lot about the potential encounters Jesse and Wendy might have had during their train-hopping journey. It breaks my heart to think how their search for something better could have led them into the path of such a dangerous person. At such a young age, they were probably just looking for adventure and hope on the other side, like so many wanderers before them. They must have met so many different people on their travels, exchanging stories and maybe even making friends along the way. It’s incredibly sad that their journey, filled with youth and potential, was cut so tragically short. My thoughts are with their families and friends who have had to endure such an unimaginable loss.
