Hey everyone, I've been diving into the details of Marty Dean Small's disappearance, and something puzzling caught my attention. It's the whole aspect of how thorough the searches were conducted after he was reported missing. Lake Union isn’t huge, so it really makes me wonder about the search methodologies they employed at the time. Did they use sonar technology or just visual searches from boats and planes? It's also strange that his wallet was there but no other personal belongings were mentioned. Could that mean he left quickly and didn’t intend to disappear on his own accord? I’m not doubting the efforts but hoping to understand the scope. Could there be any official Coast Guard or VA records left that could give us more insight into the initial response? If any history buffs are familiar with search procedures back in the early '80s, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
