Has anyone else thought about the impact this has had on the other young people working at fast-food places back then? My heart goes out to Michelle Mace and Angela Holmes' families for what they've endured. I can't even imagine the fear and anxiety that must have spread around Clarksville and Nashville during Reid's crime spree. I've heard stories of parents desperately trying to keep their kids out of these jobs because of the risk. It almost makes you think about how communities can change overnight due to someone like Reid. It’s such a tragedy that it took a monster’s rampage for people to reassess the safety of these workplaces. How do you all think communities today could support young workers in similar environments to ensure everyone feels secure?
Does anyone else think about the impact this must have had on the local community, especially for parents at that time? With Michelle Mace and Angela Holmes being so young and working at what many would consider a typical after-school job, it's understandable why many parents were hesitant or outright forbid their kids from working in fast-food places after this. I can't imagine the fear and anxiety in Clarksville during those months. I remember hearing that some families even pushed for better security measures in places like Baskin-Robbins after this tragedy. It just highlights how the ripple effects of such a horrific crime can change everyday life for so many people. My thoughts are with Michelle and Angela’s families, and all those in the community who were impacted by those terrifying events.
